Payment

Cost, insurance and government schemes

Knowing how you will pay for treatment is part of planning it. This page explains how estimates, health insurance and government schemes work, and how to check your own cover before admission.

Cost and estimates

The cost of surgery depends on the procedure, the room, the length of stay and any tests or devices needed. Ask for a written estimate after your consultation, so that you can compare it with your insurance or scheme cover. Every procedure and its risks are explained before you decide.

Government and employer schemes

These are the schemes patients most often ask about. Empanelment belongs to the hospital, not the doctor, so please check with the ManglamPlus Medicity billing desk that yours applies today. We add a scheme’s own page here only after the hospital confirms it in writing.

Private health insurance

Most health insurance works in one of two ways:

  • Cashless: the hospital sends a pre-authorisation request and the insurer pays the hospital directly for what it approves. This needs the hospital to be in the insurer’s or TPA’s network.
  • Reimbursement: you pay the hospital, then claim the money back from the insurer with your bills and reports.

Three things often affect a urology claim, so check them in your policy before admission:

  • Waiting periods: many policies have a waiting period for conditions such as kidney stones and enlarged prostate.
  • Room-rent limits: a room above your policy’s limit can reduce what the insurer pays on the rest of the bill.
  • Approval times: under the IRDAI master circular of May 2024, insurers are expected to decide cashless requests within 1 hour and discharge approval within 3 hours.

What to bring

  • Photo ID and your scheme card or insurance policy details
  • Your referral or authority letter, if your scheme needs one
  • All your reports and scans, and a list of your medicines

The hospital’s billing or TPA desk decides what is covered and handles the approval. Please confirm with them before admission.

Frequently asked questions

What will my surgery cost?

It depends on the procedure, the type of room, how long you stay and any tests or devices needed. After a consultation you can ask for a written estimate. Call +91 9649888222 for an appointment.

Does Dr. Negi accept my scheme or insurance?

Scheme empanelment and cashless agreements belong to the hospital, not to an individual doctor. Please ask the ManglamPlus Medicity billing or TPA desk with your card or policy number. We will list a scheme or insurer on this site once the hospital has confirmed it in writing.

Is the clinic in Nirman Nagar covered too?

Not necessarily. A scheme may cover hospital admission but not a clinic consultation. Please check before your visit.
