Frequently asked questions

Does an enlarged prostate mean cancer?

No. BPH is not cancer. The two can have similar urine symptoms, which is why a urologist may advise a PSA blood test and an examination.

Can BPH be treated with medicines?

Often, yes, especially for mild to moderate symptoms. Surgery is usually discussed when medicines do not help enough or when there are complications.
