Mini PERC vs Micro PERC vs RIRS
Micro PERC uses the thinnest track and is suited to smaller stones; Mini PERC uses a slightly larger track for bigger stone loads. Both clear the stone in one sitting more often than ESWL. For medium-size stones it causes less bleeding and pain because the track is much smaller. For very large stones standard PCNL is still more efficient.
Is there a scar after Micro PERC?
Only a tiny puncture mark in the back that usually heals without a visible scar.
Who should choose Mini PERC over RIRS?
Patients with harder or larger stones in the 1.5–2 cm range, or stones in the lower part of the kidney, often do better with Mini PERC. Your scan guides the decision.
